I am a closet case.
A terrible shopper who spent $15,000 last year on clothes that are just short of boring. I'm over it.
I'm starting this blog to re-learn how to shop. I want to spend way less money on way better clothes. Establish my own style. Kick my junkie-like addiction to Banana Republic basics.
I think there are a lot of women out there like me, who might enjoy reading this and get something out of it. The rest of you...feel free to point and laugh.

Should I get it?
Resisted a massive sale at Ben Sherman tonight. This green dress is $65 down from $160. Tempted to go back Saturday and purchase. Any votes between now and then would be helpful.
PROS: Super cute, could be belted over jeans, great price.
CONS: Not really spring/summer appropriate. Will get 3 months of wear then head back in the closet til November.

love the color, and the simplicity of it mixed with the details, like the dark stripes and the pleating. my biggest question would be is it flattering on? have you tried it on yet? also, you could probably still get a little wear out of it for early spring, maybe, based on the fabric and the color.
ReplyDeletei like it, and for the price, i think it would be a good buy. just make sure it's flattering. that's the biggest thing i learned. (like just because i love empire waist-type halter tops, i should NOT wear them, because they make me look pregnant. a friend literally made me go right back to the store to return a top like that that i had bought. she was right.)
p.s. the word thingy that you have to type in to post a comment, mine for the above posted comment was "ilika". haha goes with what i was saying. i lika. :)
ReplyDeletei love this dress, it just comes at you out of nowhere, seems like a great markdown price and some things should be seasonal, will feel like new when you pull them out after a 6 month sleep.
ReplyDeleteps - but only if the color works for your skin - it could look great at a distance then totally 'pale' you out when you put it on
