Milk was a bad choice!

It is so hot out today and I am running out of clothes that don't feel like clothes. I put this little number on - you've seen it before - and the black top is like a magnet for the heat. I was boiling waiting for the bus. The shoes are new though, my Enzo gladiators had seen way better days and these were on sale.

Club Monaco Skirt, $125
Black BR Tee, $35
Steve Madden Sandals, $40 on sale

Necklace is a Tahitian Pearl from my Mom's travels - goes perfectly with the skirt! Thanks Mom!

All Aboard!!

I'm not getting on a train, but I am headed for my annual girls' spa weekend in Scottsdale, AZ. It's really just about the four of us relaxing and catching up - away from work and family. It's a tradition we all love. Normally I check luggage, but this year I was determined to change my overpacking ways. Here's what I packed...

3 swimsuits and coverups
3 day outfits
3 night out outfits
pjs and underthings
1 pair of sandals
1 pair flip flops
1 small purse

I have to say I can't believe it all fit in!!! I think not packing high heels made it happen. When you wear a size 10 a heel takes up a lot of suitcase real estate.

Look for pictures of me and my ladies, being fashionable in the desert!

Another way to wear it...

On Thursday I had a flight and wanted to try something different but still comfy. I took my Old Navy cover up and turned it into a tunic. I like my belt here, but it's too big for me now and I need to get a few more holes put in. A tighter cinch would have made this outfit better. But I still think it worked!

Old Navy Tunic ($15)
BR Skinny Jeans ($89)
BR Cashmere Cardigan ($178)
Hermes Belt ($585)
Cole Haan Bacara Flats ($138)

And yes, I did pay $585 for a belt years ago when I was throwing money away, but it's a classic that will never go out of style, and at least it's reversible so it's like two belts.

Fun Cover Up

Kim and I picked up these easy cover ups at Old Navy for about $15. Cute and summery.

Sunday Travels

Flying today and want to be comfy but still presentable. I don't know who gave women the green-light to wear velour tracksuits on planes, but if I wanted to see you in your pajamas I'd break into your house while you were sleeping. Put on some clothes people!

This outfit has lots of layers and involves a looser pair of jeans and slip off shoes for comfort and ease. I'm hoping I look slightly put together though. It is a business trip after all.

Hudson Jeans($176)
City DKNY t-shirt ($35 on sale)
Theory Boyfriend Jacket ($398)
BR scarf ($60)
Cole Haan Ballet Flats ($138)

Note on the luggage - it's Rimowa, and it rocks. If you travel alot for work, like I do, I highly recommend it. Doesn't hurt that the color is "Prosecco". That's a company that gets me.

Back from Vacation!

After hiking for 7 hours in the Andes for four days in a row, I fit in my Paige Denim jeans a little better so I thought I'd try them again today. I wanted to wear a pretty dress and heels after a week of looking like a crunchy granola girl, but the weather did not cooperate. Maybe Friday.

After getting home at 1am last night, I couldn't put to much effort in to today's outfit so I went with some standards that I think look good. Let me know what you think!

Paige Premium Denim ($198)
BR Mullberry Tank ($35)
Silence and Noise Tweed Jacket ($80)
Miz Mooz Brown booties ($78)

PS - the mother of pearl turtle brooch on the lapel was my grandmother's. I think it adds a nice touch!

Better - and Fun!

SO much better than yesterday! I'm still out of town for business, but this looks cute and professional (Hey, I'm a creative. I can get away with this!) and the Lucky Strike Extra is that it will be ridiculously comfortable for my flight back.
The dress I've had for years. It's Tibi and was expensive, but with the pattern I just never feel like it's gone out of style. Looks nice belted over jeans as well. Two-for!! Plus it has pockets which I love. Hilariously this is a DRESS. If I wear this without tights or leggings it's total ass exposure. Who wears this as a dress???

Tibi Silk Tunic ($378)
Black Leggings ($40ish)
Cole Haan Bacara Flats ($138)

Side note: Tibi is known for great patterns. If you want to adda few unique pieces to your wardrobe, it's an excellent brand to shop.

On the road.

This week will be a little different as I am traveling all week for work. I tried to pack stylishly, but not overpack which is hard. One of the things that keeps my suitcases under 1000 pounds is limiting myself on the shoes, so you'll only see two pairs this week. I'm also doing all the photos on my own with one of those grippy tripod things

I'm watching focus groups this week, so all of my outfits have to be somewhat professional, keep me warm in freezing office buildings and transition to dinner if need be. Here's today's outfit:

Kate Spade blouse($128, on sale)
Club Monoco cardigan ($150)
Banana Republic skirt ($60)
Cole Haan Bacara Ballet Flats ($138)

PS - Love me some skirts and dresses with pockets!!
