New Dress!

This is my new Tracy Reese dress and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Her stuff is just fabulous. This was $365, but I've already worn it twice and plan to wear it for New Year's Eve. I also think that if I switch up the belt, this will be a nice summer dress to wear to a wedding or something. The style is a little bit 50s, and when anything has a vintage look it's likely to not go out of style. THIS is a great example of how I should be shopping - a high quality spurge that pays for itself!

Speaking of Hats...

Eugenia Kim for Target is fantastic and cheap...but if you have a bigger budget or an event you need to look fabulous for, these hats are nothing short of AMAZING!

Thanks to my dear Kim, who showed me this site in the first place.

Holiday Weekend - Monday

Was headed to a rooftop pool party with a super casual vibe so I wanted to reflect that. It was not a place to be overdressed - the pool was inflatable and people had super soakers. So I ended up mixing patterns to have a little fun.
This purple tank is from the Gap and i picked it up last summer for $40 tops. the Denim Skirt is also Gap I think, but I can't remember. Think it was around $70. I love the easy fit of this skirt, but it needed an ironing before I wore it. I couldn't be bothered so I wore it wrinkled and all.

White/Cork flip flops are from Banana Republic and are a year or two old. Probably $70.

I felt cuter than this picture looks - I need to get a new pose!

Birthday Sizzle

Who doesn't like to dress up on their birthday? There's no better excuse for wearing a pretty dress.

I'm in a one-shoulder number from The Limited ($90) and Calvin Klein Snakeskin heels ($150).

Kim is in a lovely Phillip Lim Dress and Louis Vuitton shoes she got for her birthday.

Saturday Night Special

Catching up again today due to internet failure at home.
Saturday night was my first wearing of the Phillip Lim top and it went great. I felt confident in my look and got compliments galore. I'm not sure I've ever had that many compliments in one night, except that time I dressed up as a zombie prom queen.

This time I wore the top with a J. Crew turtleneck, BR Skinny jeans (light wash, $89) and Naturalizer boots($150. Yes, you read that right. Naturalizer. I'm not 70, but I need comfy shoes to trek around this city and they've been making cuter shoes lately. Check them out - your feet will thank you.

Later this week I'll be wearing the top in an entirely different, and somewhat age-inappropriate way, to go to the Lady Gaga show. I think I'm going to be proven right about this top. That it'll get lots of wear, lots of compliments and be worth the money spent.

PS - I bought the classic Chanel quilted purse for, wait for it.....$2500. BUT, It will never go out of style and will actually last me the rest of life so totally worth it. If I had to do it again though, I might have looked for a used one on ebay, but they are hard to find.
